About Taste of Belgium - The Banks
Taste of Belgium is a modern Belgian brasserie that fuses Belgian and American cuisines with locally sourced ingredients for both brunch and dinner. Taste of Belgium offers a carefully curated beer list featuring an unequaled selection of Belgian brews and craft cocktails to enhance every meal. In 2023, Jean-François Flechet, our founder, was honored with a knighthood by the prestigious Knighthood of the Brewer's Paddle, recognizing his dedication to Belgian brewing traditions. Our journey began in 2007 at Cincinnati’s historic Findlay Market, where Jean-François introduced a traditional Liège-style waffle recipe to Cincinnati. Taste of Belgium operates two full service restaurants, one at the Banks and one at Rookwood Exchange.

The food itself is a strength, using various unique ingredients, but my party's meals all came out too salty, and my blue cheese I requested on the side with my salad wasn't provided. The servers were polite and cheerful, but their repeated use of the phrase "thank you for your service" to every individual member of our military party felt forced. Additionally, the bill was payed with a handheld tablet passed around the table while the employee held the tablet. The lowest gratuity setting besides custom amount was 20%, so tipping that high felt like a forced obligation. They Do however have a military discount, which was a welcome surprise, and it kept the higher bill reasonable. unfortunately, almost every item was around $18, and there are few options for cheap-ish food that will be filling. The environment was well decorated, with inside and outside options. I have absolutely no complaints on the decoration, which was sleek, calm, and high-quality. Overall, I was underhwelmed, but the experience was decent, but the prices were too high to come back for the quality.

Atmosphere was wonderful, right between both stadiums and the river! We sat outside and it was so lovely. All the food was great! We started with the strawberries and cream crepe and it was delicious, I’d eat that every morning! Then my husband had the steak and eggs and I have the chicken gravy & biscuit which was also excellent. Definitely would recommend and come back!

The breakfast burrito is huge, delicious, fresh, and stuffed with spinach, cheese, and turkey sausage. The side fruit was fresh and delicious. The two eggs over easy, bacon, and potatoes with toast were perfect! Of course we had to have the crepe loaded with walnuts, granny smith apples, and caramel on top. The crepe was perfect, hot, delicious. Coffee was good. The service was good. The one issue was that our seating area was very hot and there was a horrible loud buzzing noise coming from the air conditioner unit or the vent. It was really annoying and should have been detected by somebody on staff. But overall we'll be back and we really enjoy the food! Thank you.

A wonderful experience.... having the mussels reminded me of my childhood when my mother would buy a pot full (we were stationed in Belgium) and wed sit at the table and eat the entire thing! Wow were they good!! Thanks for the memories! ♥️

Taste of Belgium - The Banks is a really nice and quiet place to enjoy breakfast. My son ordered the waffle flight, and it was a fun experience for him getting to try all the different waffle flavors. He had a blast tasting each one and telling me which flavors were his favorites, which made the meal even more enjoyable. I ordered the McWaffle, and it was amazing. The flavors were excellent, and the waffle itself was cooked to perfection. Overall, we had a great experience and I would definitely come back again.
